New ATC Intelligence Web Site Launched

The Anti-Terrorism Coalition Intelligence Saturday announced the launching of the new ATCI website - http://atci.showsit.info. The website was officially opened on July 1, 2004 and will expose terrorists beyond what the ATC's Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups (http://atcterrorlist.showsit.info/) has in the past. While the Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups acts to list the websites and eGroups, the ATCI will expose the activities of these websites and eGroups, their members, and the people who own them. In addition to reporting on cyber-terrorism, the new site will feature ATC news via weekly updates.

ATC Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups Updated

The Anti-Terrorism Coalition announced Saturday the updating of the Anti-Terrorism Coalition's Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups. On April 19, 2004, the Anti-Terrorism Coalition (http://atcoalition.showsit.info) published The Anti-Terrorism Coalition's Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups (http://atcterrorlist.showsit.info). An additional section of the database, called The Anti-Terrorism Coalition's Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups Update Section (http://atclistupdate.showsit.info) was published on June 30, 2004, according to Benyamin B, Director of ATC Intelligence (http://atci.showsit.info). The new section lists all terrorist websites and eGroups found, investigated, and added to the database since May 31, 2004. To date, 96 websites and eGroups have been added, and about as many are expected to be added by September, 2004. The original database contained 352 websites. With the additions, the current database contains 448 websites and eGroups. Since the creation of the database, thirty five terrorist websites and eGroups have been shut down.

“We created this new list to show the public that we have continued working, finding and investigating more websites. The new section lists the date the website was investigated. We decided not to add to the original database, because we wanted to show what this database first started out of,” said Mr. B.

OBL Crew Investigation Report Published

The Anti-Terrorism Coalition announced Saturday the publication of a report detailing the ATC investigation of the cyber-terrorist group, OBL Crew. On May 31, 2004, the Anti-Terrorism Coalition (http://atcoalition.showsit.info), received threats from a cyber cell of Al-Qaeda called the OBL Crew. The threats stated that if the ATC did not shut down its Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups (http://atcterrorlist.showsit.info and http://atclistupdate.showsit.info), the OBL Crew would wage an e-Jihad (electronic Jihad), on the ATC. The ATC responded by launching the OBL Crew Investigation. During the month of June, the OBL Crew was investigated and is now being exposed at http://oblcrewinvest.showsit.info. During the investigation, 36 OBL Crew and OBL Crew-affiliated websites were discovered and listed on the Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups Update Section (http://atclistupdate.showsit.info).

Additionally, the investigation uncovered the name, date of birth, and city of residence of the OBL Crew leader, and asserts ATCI discovered the individual in the act of hacking and attempting to hack websites.

"We found this information on the web,” Said Benyamin B, Director of ATC Intelligence, “It was surprising to find it there, but we did. Apparently, the OBL Crew thought they could scare us with the threat of an e-Jihad against us. They thought they could shut down the ATC with the threat of hacking. On or around June 27, 2003, the terrorists hacked and destroyed many ATC and allied websites. Within a few days however, the ATC was running as usual. The OBL report contains only declassified information. We have gathered more on the OBL Crew than any OBL Crew member thinks. I have only one proposition for the OBL Crew, and that is that they shut down their group and send all of their members offline. If they continue to open up websites, we will continue to expose them."
