Clarendon - It was a hot night in Arlington Thursday, but not because of the typical July-in-Washington 90-plus degree heat and humidity outside. Rather, it was because of the heat being generated by the First Ladies of Football - the Washington Redskins' Cheerleaders - inside the Clarendon Ballroom as the 2006 Washington Redskins Cheerleaders hosted their annual calendar release party. This was the first time the 2006-2007 calendar was viewed and made available to the public. While fans were awaiting the start of the show, the nine rookies that made the squad this year mingled and signed calendars for everyone that asked.

At about 8:15 the host and voice of the Redskins Larry Michael took the stage and introduced each girl of the 2006 squad. The show began with a runway style walk as the lovely first ladies of football were introduced to the crowd of about 700 people while wearing bikinis. Over the course of the event each squad performed a dance routine, there were prize giveaways, and more runway walks were mixed in.

As the evening wound down it was time for a sneak preview of a video presenting the Redskins' Cheerleaders in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic - a behind the scenes look at the making of the calendar.

Hat's off to Stephanie Jojokian (Director/Choreographer), Donald Wells (Entertainment/Cheerleader Director) and Melanie Treanor (Marketing & Events Coordinator) for a wonderful job in putting on this event.
