On Art Monk by John S. Pappas – Editor in Chief, Capital News Services 01/31/06 We are pleased and excited to be bring you this month’s Redskins Great article featuring Art Monk (Janis - Redskins Great - Art Monk). With the 2006 NFL Hall of Fame inductees to be announced this Saturday we found it a perfect time to again consider why we think Mr. Monk should be included with that group. A review of Monk’s career statistics in the article should be enough to convince anyone that Art Monk deserves a bust in Canton. However, to add perspective, please consider Art Monk’s career statistics in the context of other NFL greats, many of whom are already in the Hall of Fame. As a native of the Washington D.C. metro area, I know the greatness of Art Monk.
